“God Bless the Grass,” an online sermon that celebrates the 50th anniversary of Earth Day during the Easter Season, 2020.  This sermon focuses on God’s activity in bringing new life, even in the midst of death, in the context of the Covid 19 pandemic and other grave challenges of our time.  Sharon delivered this sermon during shelter-in-place restrictions on April 19, 2020, the Sunday before Earth Day, and again at Nevada City United Methodist Church on  April 26, 2020.

The Role of Nonviolent Direct Action in Christian Peacemaking.

This video features Sharon Delgado speaking in 2014 at Parkside Community Church in Sacramento on The Role of Nonviolent Direct Action in Christian Peacemaking. In this video, Rev. Delgado shares some of the experiences and insights that have shaped her 40-year peacemaking journey, including a 2014 trial in which she was found guilty of trespassing onto Beale Air Force Base during a nonviolent protest against drone warfare.  She speaks about how Jesus’ life, teachings, actions, death, and resurrection can inspire us to follow him directly into the heart of the struggle for a transformed world.

Toxic Trade Agreements, Corporate Globalization, and the Movement for Global Justice

This video from 2013 presentation features Sharon Delgado and  Emanuel Sferios on Toxic Trade Agreements, Corporate Globalization, and the Movement for Global Justice.  This introductory presentation is geared toward people who want to better understand toxic trade agreements such as the World Trade Organization, NAFTA (and NAFTA 2.0), and the defeated Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). The presentation covers the larger project of global corporate rule and peoples’ movements to transform the global system through participatory democracy.  Sharon Delgado and Emanuel Sferios have been involved with issues of corporate globalization and with the movement for global justice for many years. In this video, they explain how the TPP constitutes a “corporate coup” by extending corporate authority over every area of life, and about the growing movement to create trade agreements that work for people and the earth.
